Thredbo, Perisher and Jindabyne all have lodges and ski clubs. And Lake Crackenback have sites available for ski club development. Skiers have been coming together in ski clubs and lodges for many years. The initial development period in the ski fields was essentially by the efforts of keen bands of skiers and outdoor lovers of all nationalities, who loved the Snowy Mountains, and built the first ski lodges, organizing them for the good of their fraternity.
Today, the lodge scene is alive and well, and offers the members or shareholders their annual ski holidays at reasonable prices, in generally very convivial surroundings with regular club members and their friends.
Some lodges are self cater, others have found that as times have changed, the members needs have changed, and many lodges employ managers to prepare meals and thereby give the regular household cook a great holiday.
Some lodges are incorporated, some are co-operative societies; you should always get your head around the structure when you are considering purchasing a lodge share.
When selling, we always provide a precis about the particular lodge, prepared in conjunction with the office holders of the club.
