Thredbo

Thredbo
Thredbo is a pretty village snuggled into the foothills of Australia's highest mountains. It is just a slice of the 690,000 hectares that make up the beautiful Kosciuszko National Park..
There are places to stay, places to play and places to pray, all tucked up in the 1000 hectares that make up the cosy resort. Slope-side is activity central all year round, and the other side of the mountain is full of facilities, modern services and has a great village atmosphere.
A highlight of Thredbo is that it is full of seasons, each with its own amazing distinct features. The chilly winter winds bring snowfalls that blanket the mountain and soon the slopes are buzzing with snow lovers. When spring arrives, the snow thaws to reveal lush green trails ready for hikers and bikers and the sleepy flora and fauna slowly start to awaken. By the height of summer, backpacks and walking boots are the norm with Thredbo and the Main Range bustling with explorers and bursting with colour. Along comes autumn and the landscape takes on a whole new hue with a crisp bite in the air, then we are ready for winter all over again. It is truly a resort for all seasons.
The great part about the mountains is you set your own pace. You can stay as busy as you like with the variety of activities on offer or just kick back, do very little and enjoy the views.
Leisure, pleasure, relax or hit the tracks - you will love Thredbo. Search for Thredbo

Perisher
Perisher is very excited to finally have their overall lease straightened out, which opens the way for the brand new car park development to eventually proceed. With Seven mountain peaks, 50 lifts, 1,245 ha of skiable terrain, Perisher is Australia's pre-eminent mountain resort, providing international class facilities, based on ecologically sustainable development principles.
Perisher Valley, Guthega, Bluecow and Smiggin Holes form the Perisher Ski Resort. The Perisher Village is located 1,720m above sea level with the resort's highest ski lifted point at 2034m.
General amenities at Perisher in winter include accommodation, snowboard and ski hire, ski schools, ski patrols, snowmaking, lockers and ski storage. Shops, eating facilities, a supermarket, banking facilities, post office, childcare, police and a medical centre are available. The four resorts areas of Perisher are connected by the Skitube, ski trails and chairlifts. Altogether it has a total of more than 50 lifts, a downhill skiable area of over 1245 hectares and 104km of cross country trails.
In summer the area is still a popular destination for bushwalkers, mountain bikers, cyclists and those after a spectacular view!
New World class mountain and village facilities are planned to take advantage of the geographic and topographic location of Perisher which virtually guarantees that it receives more snow, over a larger area.
Implementation of the award winning Ski Slope Master Plan will ensure the efficient integration of the original four separate resorts through the modernisation of lifting, an extensive snowmaking system to take skiers from one corner of the resort to the other, under all conditions; and strategically placed on-mountain restaurant facilities to enhance and improve visitor amenity and experience.
For the vision to be realised, the resort will have a heart, the Perisher Village, a mountain village providing a range of entertainment and active and passive activities. A purposeful creation of a range of pleasurable activities that balance recreational, educational, retail and entertainment opportunities.
The Village will significantly define the substance, style and character of the resort, giving it a unique presence that will become a large part of why visitors return, year after year.
The design and functionality of the Village will be of the highest standard so that a long term ambience, quality of experience and an ease of operation is realised, so that it retains visitor appeal and remains environmentally, socially and economically viable for generations.
The Village will distinguish itself from all others, yet it will honour and reflect its distinctive history, and its Indigenous and European cultural heritage. Search for Perisher, Smiggin Holes and Guthega

Jindabyne
Jindabyne township, Tyrolean Village, East Jindabyne, Kalkite, High Country Estate, Lakewood and Cobbin Estate are some of the differing village areas that are commonly referred to as Jindabyne. Jindabyne offers amongst Forbes Stynes Real Estate residential and investment listings some excellent holiday investment properties offering over ten per cent gross yield as we come into spring 2011.
The original town of Jindabyne and its inhabitants were relocated in the 1960's when the Snowy River was dammed as part of the Snowy Mountains Scheme, Not many buildings were moved and the SMA was the first big developer; a number of Snowy houses were built for employees. The remains of the old town foundations lie submerged under Lake Jindabyne and can occasionally be glimpsed when lake levels are low. For great views over the lake at any time head for the Waste Point Lookout on the Kosciuszko Road.
Modern Jindabyne is a year round holiday resort and is a very cosmopolitan place with its mix of new residents and pioneering families.
The surrounding rural areas are home to a number of residents who reside on rural residential estates. The new rural LEP outlines the differing sub-division sizes according to the various localities in the shire.
In winter Jindabyne is a base for skiers bound for the major resorts in Kosciuszko National Park and for the rest of the year it's a great place from which to go bushwalking, mountain biking, whitewater rafting and canoeing, horse riding and kayaking. The lake provides superb opportunities for trout fishing and water sports. Search for Jindabyne
